Fiona Roberts

Similarly to Gigi Barker, Roberts has merged body parts with our intimate environment. She says “A house becomes a home when people live in it and a personal history is inscribed into it… A home is reliant on the body to be a home”. And by this, she literally makes the body a “home”:

I was most drawn to the curtains with the eyes- these are a literal representation of “eyes being the windows to our souls”. It influenced me to think about using wiggly eyes in my latex, as it could create a comical effect, as well as grotesque! I thought about how “staring/watching” can also make someone uncomfortable, and I may try the eyes in latex soon to see what the effect is like.
